The Struts are coming to Trees on Saturday, October 8, 2016!
The U.K.-based glam-rock quartet released their debut album, Everybody Wants, last March to mass critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone deeming them “England’s Newest Glam-Rock Heroes.” After the band was hand-picked by Nikki Sixx to play with Mötley Crüe for their final four shows, The Struts garnered praise from critics worldwide, many comparing front man Luke Spiller’s vocals to those of Freddie Mercury, Mick Jagger, and even a young Tim Curry. All comparisons aside, however, The Struts have made a name for themselves by bringing classic rock and roll sounds back to mainstream alternative music, which has not been an easy feat. While they’re widely known for their musical prowess, The Struts are equally invested in the live aspect of their performances. In 2014, legendary fashion designer Zandra Rhodes, famous for her work on Freddie Mercury and Brian May’s costumes, designed a custom blue silk cape for Spiller to wear during the band’s opening set for The Rolling Stones at the Isle of Wight. Since then, other designers including Ray Brown (famous for his work with Lady Gaga and Ozzy Osbourne) have been enlisted to create pieces for the band’s live wardrobe, and The New York Times has since deemed Spiller a fashion icon. The Struts’ glitz and glamour is a spectacle in and of itself, but combined with their catchy, driving sound, their live show is a force to be reckoned with.
The Struts will be coming to Trees on Saturday, October 8th, straight from their debut Austin City Limits appearance. You do not want to miss your chance to see this band! Tickets go on sale Friday 7/15 at 10:00 am. Get them here!
