The Midnight Stroll
The highly anticipated launch of Aaron Behrens’ solo career is finally here. With Ghostland Observatory on hiatus, Behrens has been preparing his solo musical adventure since 2013.
Writing, recording and rehearsing with a crack team of Austin musicians, the sessions resulted in Behrens crafting material that blended elements of soulful rock and heartfelt blues into a refreshing sound. Joining Behrens in The Midnight Stroll is Jonas Wilson (previously from
Lomita and White White Lights) on guitar and production.
Wrestlers (formerly known as Bagheera) began as the alias of 21-year-old Houston producer Aidan Kennedy, who released a house-and-chillwave-blending full-length called 100% Panther in 2012 on France's Plik & Plok Records. The record received raves from blogs like Aerial Noise and Neonized and scored Bagheera high-profile gigs opening for the likes of M83, Ghostland Observatory, Passion Pit, and Matthew Dear. Kennedy eventually invited his old Hebrew school friend David Elkin to join him and form Wrestlers' current incarnation as a funky electro-dance duo. Wrestlers will spend 2014, continuing to make what Cat5 Magazine calls "dance music for those who give a damn about dance music."
Dark Rooms, from Dallas, TX, is the band that Daniel Hart put together after years of touring and recording with bands like St. Vincent, Other Lives, The Rosebuds, Broken Social Scene, John Vanderslice, The Polyphonic Spree…He became obsessed with photography, and wrote songs influenced by that obsession.
Dark Rooms released its debut album in 2013 and is currently finishing up its sophomore effort.
